During Chinese President Xi Jingping’s ‘Super State Visit’ to the UK in October 2015, CITIC, SANY and ABP officially confirmed their partnerships in building London’s next business district – Royal Albert Dock. Undoubtedly, their collaboration depicts a harmonious image of the ‘Golden Era’ of UK China bilateral trade cooperation, it also echoes President Xi’s speech to the British Parliament – “China and the UK are at the right time to join hands for development”.
Witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron at the historical hall of London’s Mansion House, Chang Zhenming, Chairman of CITIC Group, and Xu Weiping, Chairman of ABP Global signed the General Contractor Agreement.
In a further move, ABP and CITIC Construction Ltd will form an investment company as a vehicle to deliver major infrastructure and housing projects across the UK. And they have ambition beyond the Royal Albert Dock project to develop other projects in UK, especially in London.
On 22nd Oct, Chen Xiaojia, General Manager of CITIC Construction, Jiang Xiangyang, Managing Director of Sany Europe and Xu Weiping, Chairman of ABP Global signed the Investment Cooperation Agreement, the three parties will jointly set up an equipment company for the Royal Albert dock project and other projects to provide equipment leasing for the smooth implementation of the project.
Sany is the biggest Chinese multinational heavy machinery manufacturing company and operates 11 R&D and production facilities in China, India, Brazil the US and Europe. The group company set up its European headquarters in Germany in 2011.
