A business agreement to set up a training centre for chefs to learn traditional Chinese cookery has been signed at a seminar held at Royal Albert Dock.
More than 20 delegates from catering businesses from across China attended the seminar along with a further 15 London-based business leaders in a half-day event hosted by Royal Albert Dock Developer ABP.
Amongst those who witnessed the signing ceremony at Compressor House were Councillor Joy Laguda, Chair of Newham Council, Counsellor Li Hui from the Chinese Embassy in London, and John Miu, ABP London’s Chief Operating Officer.
John Miu said: “The UK’s stable political and economic system, and its comprehensive legal system and highly skilled labour force mean Britain is a great place to invest. ABP’s Royal Albert Dock Development is the ideal location for businesses from China looking to locate here.”
The seminar, which examined the business opportunities in London for Chinese companies looking to locate in the UK, was organised by Jiang Junxian and Thomas Chan DL from the UK-China Cuisine Association.
